Master Josh Emamy, 7th Dan Black Belt, World Taekwondo Federation

Master Josh Emamy’s Taekwondo journey started at just 2 years old, taught by his father, Grandmaster Masoud Emamy, a respected Taekwondo instructor himself.

Guided by his father, Josh learned the traditional values of Taekwondo, sparking a lifelong passion for passing knowledge to the next generation, the true meaning behind the Next Gen name.

By age 10, Master Josh was already teaching alongside his father, developing not only his technical skill but also his ability to mentor and inspire others. At 17, he co-founded Next Generation Taekwondo with his father, opening the first studio in 1998. Within two years, the school expanded, laying the foundation for what would become one of Australia’s largest martial arts organisations.

Today, Master Josh is recognised globally among the world’s Top 50 Taekwondo Masters (2019).

Next Generation Taekwondo now supports over 2,000 members training across five world-class facilities. Many of the school’s instructors began their journey as children and have grown through the programs into leadership roles.

While the organisation has grown, its purpose has remained the same: to inspire people through Taekwondo, giving them the grounding to navigate life’s challenges. When you join Next Generation Taekwondo, you’re choosing more than martial arts; you’re joining a fun and supportive community.
